Cam Ward Defeats Sabres

Published by hockeyguy1681 at 10:26 am under Sabres Game Night, Sabres Post Game Edit This

With the extraordinary effort by their goaltender Cam Ward, the Carolina Hurricanes were able to defeat the Sabres in a shootout with a final score of 2-1.  Ward stopped all 3 Buffalo shooters and need only Jussi Jokinen’s one goal to win the game.  Buffalo failed to capitalize on their chances throughout the game and is a big reason why they did not win.  Patrick Lalime played excellent, allowing just one goal and making key saves on the power play.  I have nothing against Patrick Kaleta, and feel he is one of the most hard working players out there, but when he is the teams only goal scorer for the night, then there’s a problem.  His job is not to go out there and win the game by scoring, no we have millions of dollars invested in other players for that kind of stuff and it’s sad to see those players not produce when we need it the most.  We get a bit of a break tonight in playing the struggling Islanders, so hopefully this will allow us to get out of this current funk we are in and back on the right track.
